Buffer’s 10 Actionable Values Project

A Slack channel I’m a part of (Buffer — join here) asked us to list 10 of our values so I wanted to share them here on Medium as a way to spur conversation about the values others have which are actionable and influence their decision-making. So, comment below with your own values.
1) I value building and fostering a healthy culture through candid feedback loops where honor is given and respect can be earned.
2) I value people over practices so that the individuals in my span of care feel heard, valued, and known more for who they are than what they do.
3) I value focusing on outcome-focused KPIs so that work is prioritized against business objectives instead of departmental outputs.
4) I value empathetic leadership so that we honor people over processes and create processes for scalable growth.
5) I value data-influenced Marketing validated against outcome-focused metrics through team-led insight.
6) I value learning from others further along on a divergent path.
7) I value relational connections created within a diverse community.
8) I value when people ask insightful questions and listen intently to understand the other person.
9) I value cultures which emphasize failing fast and encourage innovative risk-taking.
10) I value when people lead by example with accountability, candor, and humility.
